The President reaffirms her commitment to education and presents progress in infrastructure and social programs.

At an event held in Ecatepec, State of Mexico, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led the distribution of Rita Cetina Scholarship cards, highlighting the consolidation of this support as a permanent right for secondary school students in public institutions.

The ceremony also served to oversee the progress of a new Technological High School, which will open its doors next February.

During her remarks, the President emphasized that the Rita Cetina Scholarship can no longer be withdrawn from students, as it has been institutionalized as part of the key policies of the Fourth Transformation.

Currently, this program benefits nearly six million young people throughout the country, who receive resources to facilitate their continued enrollment in the education system.

The President explained that the government currently allocates approximately 50 billion pesos to this support, confirming the magnitude of the federal investment in secondary education.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the Rita Cetina Scholarship complements other social welfare programs, such as the Benito Juárez Scholarships, the Pensions for the Well-being of Older Adults and People with Disabilities, and the Women’s Welfare Pension, thus forming part of a comprehensive policy aimed at improving the quality of life for various sectors of society.

Regarding the municipality of Ecatepec, it was reported that progress is being made in the construction of new schools and health centers, as well as in the acquisition of equipment for road rehabilitation, which will directly benefit the local community and strengthen educational and urban infrastructure.

For his part, the Secretary of Public Education specified that more than 5.6 million secondary school students already receive the Rita Cetina Scholarship, while 4 million high school students receive the Benito Juárez Universal Scholarship.

Furthermore, the new Technological High School in Ecatepec will offer innovative programs in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Nanotechnology, Robotics, and Automation, opening academic opportunities aligned with the current challenges of the job market.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation reported that the construction of this high school required an investment of 50 million pesos in construction and another 17.3 million pesos in equipment, and it is currently in its final phase before its inauguration.

Finally, the Governor of the State of Mexico thanked the President for her support and the efforts made for the benefit of the people of the State of Mexico, reaffirming the authorities’ commitment to the well-being and educational development of the region.
