“There Is No Separation From the People”: Sheinbaum Announces National Report and Vows to Defend Mexico’s Sovereignty
President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that on May 31 she will deliver a national government report focused on reinforcing the Fourth Transformation project while sending a message of unity, sovereignty, and support for social welfare programs.
The president confirmed that the event will be broadcast simultaneously in public squares across all 32 Mexican states so citizens can follow the message without traveling to Mexico City.
Speaking during an event in Teapa, Tabasco, Sheinbaum explained that the decision aims to bring the report closer to communities nationwide and avoid massive mobilizations toward the capital.
She stated that every public square connected to the event will receive the speech in real time so thousands of people can watch the address simultaneously from their own states.

“I decided to hold a report on Sunday, May 31, and connect every public square in the country so everyone can hear the message together,” the president said.
Sheinbaum revealed that a significant part of her speech will focus on explaining the origins of the Fourth Transformation movement and the continuity of the policies promoted by her administration.
She also reaffirmed that one of her government’s main objectives is to strengthen national sovereignty while maintaining close ties with citizens throughout the country.
During her appearance in Tabasco, the president insisted that her administration maintains direct communication with the public and emphasized that “there is no separation between the people and the government.”
She additionally stated that Mexico will continue being “a free, independent, and sovereign nation” while defending the social policies implemented since the beginning of the so-called 4T movement.

At the event, Sheinbaum repeated several principles that, according to her, will continue guiding her administration over the coming years.
“Do not lie, do not steal, and never betray the people of Mexico,” she declared before supporters and local officials gathered in the Tabasco municipality.
The president also used the occasion to highlight several social programs currently being operated by the federal government throughout different parts of the country.
Among the initiatives mentioned were the Women’s Welfare Pension, the Rita Cetina scholarship program, and the House-to-House Health initiative aimed at senior citizens and people with disabilities.
Regarding healthcare, Sheinbaum reaffirmed that hospital projects in Tabasco continue progressing, including new general hospitals planned for Teapa and Macuspana.

She also highlighted advances in the Universal Health Service model, which will allow citizens to receive free healthcare through IMSS, ISSSTE, and IMSS Bienestar regardless of insurance status.
Meanwhile, Welfare Secretary Leticia Ramírez Amaya reported that more than 708,000 people in Tabasco currently receive federal social assistance programs.
The official added that investments allocated to social welfare programs in the state during 2026 exceed 24 billion pesos.
Finally, Tabasco Governor Javier May Rodríguez praised the president’s visit and noted that road infrastructure and hospital projects across the state were also reviewed during the weekend tour.
