Máynez emphasizes the importance of a transparent and fair legislative process. Máynez Will Seek Balance of Representatives in Congress.

The former presidential candidate of Movimiento Ciudadano, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, has declared his intention to fight against overrepresentation in Congress by Morena and its allies.

Álvarez Máynez affirms that they will not allow the spaces they have won in both legislative chambers to be taken away from them.

Complaint of Overrepresentation

In an interview in the Senate, Álvarez Máynez described the intention to increase the overrepresentation of Morena and its allies in the Chamber of Deputies as a “monumental fraud.”

He recalled that he has fought and denounced this practice since 2015, noting that the PRI has also benefited from a “grotesque overrepresentation” in the past.

The former candidate made it clear that he will continue to defend fair representation in Congress, ensuring that he will not sit idly by maneuvers that seek to distort the true will of the electorate.

According to Álvarez Máynez, balance in both chambers is essential to guarantee democracy and transparency in the legislative process.

Position Regarding Reincorporations and Reforms

Álvarez Máynez also ruled out the possibility of returning to his seat in the Chamber of Deputies. He took advantage of the occasion to criticize those who, after denouncing electoral fraud, decide to return to their legislative positions.

This statement was a clear allusion to Xóchitl Gálvez, who recently announced her return to the Senate after having been a presidential candidate.

In addition, Álvarez Máynez expressed his concern about the reforms that are intended to be carried out in the Judiciary before Claudia Sheinbaum assumes the presidency.

She criticized the rush of these reforms, suggesting that they could be politically motivated and not aimed at improving the judicial system in an objective and fair manner.
