The penalty fee is 21,714 pesos for improper use of the logo on social networks. Electoral Court Sanctions Xóchitl Gálvez for Using the INE Logo.
The Specialized Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) has decided to sanction Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz, presidential candidate of the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition, with a fine for using the logo of the National Electoral Institute (INE) in her propaganda.
Details of the sanction imposed
The TEPJF determined that Gálvez Ruiz must pay a fine of 21,714 pesos for improper use of the INE logo on his social networks.
In addition, the coalition he represents will also face a fine of up to 10,000 pesos for the same reason.
The decision was made after the Superior Court ordered an in-depth investigation into the candidate’s electoral propaganda.

Investigation and resolution
The accusation indicates that Gálvez Ruiz’s campaign used the INE logo to promote social programs for electoral purposes.
The Specialized Chamber ruled that this action constituted a fault and, consequently, imposed the financial penalty.
The ruling was issued after a session in which the implications of the use of the INE emblem in electoral propaganda were discussed.

Withdrawal of questioned propaganda
On March 28, the president of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei Zavala, formally requested Gálvez Ruiz to stop using the institute’s image in his propaganda and to remove any similar content from his social networks.
In response, the presidential candidate deleted the questioned images. These included messages such as “If someone tells you that you can lose the social programs, report it” and “Whoever wins the programs will stay,” accompanied by the INE logo.
With this sanction, the TEPJF seeks to guarantee the appropriate use of institutional symbols and maintain equity in the electoral contest.
Candidate Xóchitl Gálvez and her team must adjust their propaganda strategies to comply with current regulations and avoid future sanctions.
